“Game of Thrones”, an incredibly successful classic in television shows, has a prequel. “House of the Dragon” premiered in August 2022, gaining immediate support and popularity since there was already an established fanbase from “Game of Thrones” as well as the prequel book “Fire and Blood” that the show is based on. Following the overwhelming success of season 1, season 2 was started immediately.

Posters released by HBO Max including two main characters and a hint to when the show will be released, “Summer 2024” (a tease to the vague date the season will premiere) had fans in an uproar of anticipation. The day following the posters, a teaser trailer for season 2 was released December 4th, 2023. Immediately following the release, “Summer 2024” was trending on multiple platforms, along with everything related to the show following suit in being the top trending topics. Millions of people are talking about the trailer in excitement for what’s in store. Certain fans who have read the book “Fire and Blood” Which is the basis and story of this show are arguably more anxious for this new season to see the contrats and similarities between the book and adaptation.

“I’m not ready to see [major character spoiler]’s death on screen.” One fan says. This comment just echoes similar words that other fans are saying as they’re feeling a mix of emotions with the upcoming season.

Book readers are also unenthusiastic about the fates of their beloved characters, as well as the unfortunate end for most (if not all) of the characters in this cruel but entertaining fantasy world.

George R.R. Martin, the author of Game of Thrones and Fire and Blood has confirmed that there will be a third and fourth season. The author stated that he spent a great amount of time with the showrunners and writers, discussing the plans for the future seasons. House of the Dragon looks like it will be around for a while, and its success will only rise from here.
