The Nintendo Switch 2 was released on June, 5th, 2025. The new console was supposed to be one of the best consoles of the year. The Nintendo Switch 2 comes in at a whopping $450. The new Switch has magnetic Joy-cons and a new system where the controller could detect when something was hitting the controller in the game and it would vibrate. The Switch 2 came with multiple new games which were Mario Kart World, Split Fiction, and a new Kirby game. The Nintendo Switch 2 also addresses people who are in wheelchairs and made a new mode for the controllers so that they turn into mouses for computers which makes people in wheelchairs still able to play games like everyone else.
The Nintendo Switch was first released in March of 2017 with a price of $299.99. This is the first Nintendo console since the Wii U released in 2012 which was also a hand-held console. The console had many famous games such as Super Smash Brothers Ultimate, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The console was an impressive advancement in the hand-held console scene because of how well it performed for only being 4 inches tall, 9.4 inches long, and 0.55 inches deep. Having this powerful console being able to be held in your hands was something that was previously unheard of.
The Nintendo Switch 2, can be easily compared to other handheld devices. For example, the ROB Xbox Alley, this Xbox console is a handheld device with Steam imported into it and easily beats the Nintendo Switch 2 in every way. The Switch 2 has only Nintendo games whereas the Xbox Ally has an infinite amount of games you can play that range from Nintendo games, Playstation games, and more! The new Nintendo was highly anticipated because the community would’ve gotten a new device after 10 years of waiting, but the Switch 2 was pretty much a clone of the first Nintendo Switch. The Nintendo Switch 2 is not the best christmas gift because there are way better options that are similar in price and have a better performance than the New Switch. However, people may want to buy the Nintendo Switch 2 due to it having exclusive games, such as, Pokemon Legends ZA, Mario Kart World, and Donkey Kong Bananza.
