Journey of Santa Rosa Academy’s Soccer Team

The girl’s soccer team is ready for their games. They are training and practicing in order to become unstoppable. They have been pushing their limits and working hard. They have put all their time and dedication into soccer.

The team has been working on footwork, going to the weight room, and working hard on soccer drills.

“At practice, we do something different each time; we might do passing drills, a scrimmage, or shooting. Our coach gives us drills that she wants us to improve and work on to help us have better performance for our next game,” said Isabelle Marie.

To practice they do the basics, they train, and play. One player states that they have great communication

“We do passes, touches, and running. We’ll run the mile sometimes and do multiple running exercises. After warming up and stretching and some drills, we go to the weight room. I’d say our goal as a team is to improve and strive and soccer and win our games. Also to go to the championships and win that. I honestly can’t speak for all of us but I’d say we need to improve on communication for some of the teammates but overall the teams are pretty great. For me, I’d say more of control like juggling” Arianna Lopez stated.

Before games, they warm up and prepare for their games. They take drills to memorize their strategy.

“Before games, we do our usual warm-up: stretching, dynamic warm-up, and our volley warm-ups, then we separate defense and offense and do a possession drill, next, the offense does a shooting drill and defense does a passing long ball drill lastly we do a crossing drill where the people on the outside pass the ball to the people in the middle and they have to score it,” Marie said.

They train with perseverance and determination in order to take SRA to victory. Let’s cheer our soccer team to bring us to victory.
