The San Francisco 49ers won after losing three games in a row. The 49ers lost to the Browns, Vikings, and Bangles but now ended the losing streak. On Sunday the 49ers played the Jaguars. The 49er’s offense and defense made very big plays from start to finish. The 49ers offense got the game going in the first quarter and started it off fast.
“We haven’t shown that we can play from behind and come back and win a football game. That’s something that we’ve got to address and get better at. We can’t just be a team that can only win when we’re up.” said Fred Warner, middle linebacker.
The 49ers picked it up after the losses they had. The offense really fired away at the receivers. The Quarterback Brock Purdy gets the offense to about the Jaguars 25. He then runs to the left and throws it into the end zone for a Brandon Aiyuk touchdown. Purdy then looks and sees the Fullback Kylie Juszczyk and fires it towards him for a 22-yard touchdown. The Jaguar’s defense just couldn’t stop them but that wasn’t the only thing helping the 49ers.
“Bosa does so much for our defense that goes unseen. Playing the run and the passing game, they are both top-tier from Nick Bosa… He’s just gotta keep doing his thing, [I’m happy] with his trajectory right now.” said Warner.
The 49ers defense was stopping the offense from doing anything throughout the entire game. The linebacker Fred Warner was making stops and taking the ball away. The Jaguars Quarterback Trever Lawrence dropped back and threw the ball in Warner’s direction. Warner jumped up and came down with the ball, making it his third interception of 2023. Nick Bosa then fights past the offensive line and takes Lawrence down for a sack. With the Jaguar’s offense in the red zone Ambry Thomas goes to tackle Christian Kirk and steals the ball away which was then ran in for a touchdown but was declined due to a penalty.
“When we start early, it could turn into one of those special days for you upfront. We had a good day up front, but we’ve got a lot more to go. We can continue to get better… It was a great feeling to get a win. I haven’t felt that in a while, and it was great to play well.” said Arik Armstead, defensive lineman.
“Just how we overcame a bunch of stuff. I didn’t think we played perfect ball by any means, which you never do.., I was just happy that the mistakes that we did make, we always overcame.” said Kyle Shanahan, coach.
