On May 9, 2025, a tragic altercation in Wildomar, California, happened to a dear friend, Naythan Vasquez, leaving everyone who knew him shocked.
The incident occurred on Waite St., where Vasquez was reportedly involved in a dispute that escalated quickly. A friend of Vasquez, who was also shot and is currently recovering in a local hospital, had informed Vasquez’s mother that an argument broke out among others at the party, and both he and Vasquez fled upon seeing guns being drawn.
Unfortunately, both were shot before they could escape. No arrests have been made thus far. Since the incident, Vasquez’s family has received numerous visits and expressions of sympathy from those who knew and loved Vasquez.
He was loved and well-known among many students and friends at Paloma Valley High School and schools all around Menifee, as he was known to go out of his way to assist others.
We are all heartbroken by Vasquez’s tragic passing. He was a shy but loving kid. He would walk into the room and brighten it, everyone loved being around him. Vasquez was loved by all of us and his family. His friends made posts about him that made everyone cry.
One of his closest friends, Mariah Cazares, made a post with memories made with him, captioned, “Never in a million years would I think you would no longer be here. My lil’ bro. I’m so thankful for getting to meet you in this lifetime, and I’ll forever be mad you were taken away so early, we were finally able to upgrade from e-bikes to driving. I would do anything just to see you one last time and blast our favorite Rod Wave song. From waking up early to grab McDonald’s and Starbucks, to running to Jailynn’s cousin’s to eat the most random food. I’ll always cherish the memories we made together and the trips to the beach. Thank you for always being there for me and making me laugh over non-funny things. I’m going to miss watching you play football, and our Palm Springs trip will always be a core memory. You were like my little brother and always will be, I love you, Naythan”.
This shows how much Vasquez was loved and how much it hurt to see him gone so fast. The world now feels a little less bright because he made a huge impact on our lives. His absence will forever feel unreal. And everyone’s in disbelief. It’s so sad to think he was just with all of his friends and he is no longer with us. Hearing about this situation with a person we knew personally broke our hearts and made us think about how life really is taken for granted. He will forever be in our prayers and hearts. And we will keep his name alive. It’s hard to think all the moments with him are just memories now. We will always honor your memory by living our life to the fullest.
Vasquez’s impact on our own lives will never be forgotten, and his memory will love on in our hearts forever. We will continue to honor his legacy by spreading the same love and compassion that he showed us. His kindness touched so many lives, and his spirit will continue to inspire us. We will always remember his smile, his laughter, and the way he made us feel. He taught us the importance of understanding, empathy, and the power of a very loving heart. His memory will be a guiding light, reminding us to be better people. Every beat of our hearts aches with the realization that our paths will never cross again in this lifetime. We love you forever, Naythan!
