A thrilling Sunday night game had a combined 634 yards but the game came down to the final inches. Commanders kicker Zane Gonzalez got his spotlight moment as he gave his team their first playoff win in over 20 years. Heisman winner Jayden Daniels led the Commanders to a thrilling win with 268 yards and two touchdown passes. Daniels didn’t do it all by himself though, the Commanders forced a key turnover that might have determined the game.
Baker Mayfield and the Buccaneers were on fire going into the game as they won five out of their last six games and were favored to win by a touchdown.
After the game, Mayfield stated “It’s disappointing because I believe in this team because we have some talent and the coaching staff to go far”. The Buccaneers had high hopes but their season came down to the final inches.
On the other hand Terry McLaurin stated “It’s unbelievable to be part of this Commanders team”. The Commanders pulled off their first playoff win in 20 years, and they hope to continue their run in the playoffs on the 18th when they play the Detroit Lions. Jayden Daniels made sure to say “We’re gonna keep fighting till the end” as he knows he has a tough matchup awaiting him.
