What if the mysteries that made “Gravity Falls” so beloved can still be revealed after eight years? “Gravity Falls” is an action-packed mystery where protagonists Mabel and Dipper visit their great uncle Stan in Gravity Falls, Oregon for the summer. Since the show was throughout the summer, the series only had two seasons. Many fans are disappointed the show did not go on, and many eyes lit up when Alex Hirsch (the creator of “Gravity Falls”) sent out a tweet announcing a book, a spin-off starring the show’s antagonist, Bill Cipher, called “The Book Of Bill.” Knowing there are multiple books for the original show can only make us think there could be a show.
Adoring fan, also known as my sister, Mikaila Oh, has been watching the series since it first aired. Since it came out, she explains her love for the mystery and the fun throughout the series.
“I would like to see a spin-off series with Bill Cipher. I think Alex Hirsch did a great job with Gravity Falls. It is my favorite TV show. I think an expansion of the series would be very entertaining and worth it to watch.” said Oh,
Loyal fans like Oh agree there should be a show starring Cipher since there will be a book about his power. As exciting as a new twisted series sounds, only some fans agree it will be worth watching. Sra student Leilani Dowding worries that the spin-off will backfire as some sequels rarely do the original justice.
“Nothing can replace the original show, and I think a lot of times a part two of a movie is never as they intended like “The Hunger Games,” they made a spin-off and it was bad. For “Gravity Falls” to make a spin-off of it, it can make them look dumb.” Said Dowding.
There’s not much to know about the possible sequel, but some fun theories exist. What if Cipher never got erased by the memory wiper since Stan regained his memory? Why does he come back now? Does he possess Stans’s body? What does this mean for “Gravity Falls?”
What could this possible spin-off do to the original series? If “The Book Of Bill” is a hit, could Alex Hirsch surprise us with a show? All we can do is hope.
