College week was the main event at SRA during the first week of October. College week is a period of the school year that focuses on the benefits of going to college. People from various universities and/or colleges visit SRA when college week hits. The week’s events are designed to raise awareness and to encourage students interest in college. The people who come from the universities provide support to those trying to obtain a scholarship or others trying to get into college.
In addition to learning about college life after high school, college week helps students learn more about dual enrollment, which is a program where students can take college courses through MSJC. Some examples of classes one can take are ASL, advanced math classes, advanced history classes, etc. Some classes at our school offer college credits, such as engineering and bio med. Our school allows many different opportunities for students using their partnership with MSJC.
